Flight Project: Part 2
The project was not a piece of cake. In the violet of twilight, cumulus clouds were amassing around us, gnashing and stewing like chewing meat, and it took all I could do to steady myself in the crushing wind. It usually wasn’t this difficult, but we were above the tropical mountains, and the winds up here were even more fierce.
“What do we do?” I shouted. It was all I could muster to be even faintly heard. “It may be calmer if we go inside the cloud!”
“What, do you want to get us killed? Don’t be so incompetent! The serpent could be anywhere in there! Besides, it won’t be long before the cloud starts to build up an electric charge!” said Grondin.
I huffed.
“But the cumulus serpent is inside! Its scales absorb the electricity in the air, and the wind won’t be as strong!” I shouted. Grondin scowled.
“We go up from the outside, and now, before the wind knocks one of my wings off!” he said. I shouted in fr

Flight Project: Part 1
One, two, duck, glide, freeze in the burning sensation of being watched, and— damn it! The fire vines again! And the other dragons… I removed myself from the obstacle course shamefully and tried to slink out of the spotlight, but my flight professor had no mercy.
“Come on, Demna! This is only the third obstacle! If you want to pass the midterm, you'll have to get a bit farther than that!” he scolded. I nodded quickly, looking at the floor. Lyster, this jock who just gleamed with confidence, stepped up to the stage, but I still felt everyone’s gaze. As I came closer to the professor, he addressed me more softly. “I don’t understand why you’ve been performing so poorly. Your entrance exam was excellent!”
“Oh, um.” I swallowed. “I guess it’s hard for me to think, um, with everyone watching.”
And at this point I hadn’t noticed Grondin lurking in the corner, but he poked his head in.
“You can har

Catching Up
I was right above her head on an oak tree, wondering how I didn't get detected with these huge paws. Oblivious as usual- it’s a miracle she ever got accepted into ThunderClan as an outsider. Now, I could expect one of two reactions: hostility or joy. Either way, I just hoped she wouldn’t scratch my eyes up or something. Shuddering for a moment, I dropped to the floor below.
“Gah! Rogue! What are you—
Her orange fur was all puffed up, and though it was probably meant to scare, I just couldn’t help but smile. Her stance melted and a glimmer went through her eyes.
“Silas? Is that really you?” she asked. I beamed.
“It is none other than yours truly! Shame on you for forgetting your brother!” I joked. She pushed me lightly, though I found myself stumbling.
“I did not forget! You just surprised me! And you’re lucky I didn’t claw your ears off!” she laughed.
“How morbid!” I chuckled and sighed. “So

Woooo boy, it's been a while since I've put anything up here! It's been pretty crazy, between endless papers and then travelling for two full days... but no excuses! I'll have something to show soon!

Either way, I'm on my spring break now, and I've finally settled into the routine! It took a while, since I had to take the train all day, and then fly all day, and then make up on sleep and get into a new routine at my family's house. But now I'm back and swinging! ...Aaaaaand I have tons of schoolwork.

Otherwise, this has been a welcome chance to catch my breath. College has been demanding, and during the week I have no time except to do my work until the wee hours of the morning. Restoring my sleep, taking some time for myself, and spending time with my family has really been awesome.

And I'm getting back into reading for pleasure! I picked up Robin Hobb's Assassin's Apprentice last year, and for a while I was just hooked! But once the last book came around, some things hit a little close to home and it was really tearing up my spirits, so I had to put it down for a while. But now that I've gotten some distance, I decided to stick my toes back into the water, and after a bit, I just jumped right in! What a series! I highly recommend it to any fan of fantasy. The way it deals with magic is very subtle so as to make it believable, and the focus is really on the world and character development. It's a book that doesn't build its plot traditionally; it immerses the reader by giving anecdotes, all related to the plot, but really with the intention of phasing in an understanding of the world and characters... and with time, you don't even realize the stakes and challenges being set up, but those strings are pulled, and suddenly there are moments more suspenseful than almost anything I've ever read! It's just brilliant!

So reading has captured me again, and I couldn't be happier! Again, with all the free time I have to read, I do intend to draw something soon as well. My apologies for the wait!

Hi! I'm Freeway, and I'm pleased to meet you! I'm mostly here to write short stories and comics, but I also sew plush, woodcarve, sculpt, and draw. My art will be primarily related to animals, Pokemon, fantasy stuff, MLP, and other such childish things, but that's okay! Preserving a piece of childhood is good for the soul!

Either way, I'm glad to meet you, and I hope you enjoy my art! Feel free to say hi, because I'm always up for a chat!

Thank you! I hope so too! The story I have up right now is more dramatic than funny, though!
